Balıklıgöl

Balıklıgöl is 150 meters long and 30 meters wide. Its depth is around 3-5 meters. It contains carp fish, which are the subject of legends. These fish are respected by the people and are not eaten. According to legend, after Hz. Ibrahim was thrown into the fire, a miracle occurred and the surroundings became a bed of roses. It is believed that the place where this miracle took place was Balıklıgöl and its surroundings. It reaches the highest number of visitors on religious holidays and on the nights of Mevlid and Kandil.
It is located in the cave where Hz. Ibrahim was born on the Balıklıgöl Plateau. The cave where Hz. Ibrahim, who is considered the ancestor of the three heavenly religions, was born never lacks visitors. Visitors from every religion, every country and every city visit this cave in every season of the year. Right next to the cave where Hz. Ibrahim was born is the grave of Beddiüzaman Said Nursi, the religious scholar of the period in which he lived, where he was first buried after his death.
