Dome Houses

The majority of the Dome Houses identified with Harran still exist. There are two reasons why the dome parts of the houses in Harran are covered with bricks. One is the lack of wood due to the region being deserted, and the other is the abundance of bricks in Harran. The domes of the houses, which are at most 5 meters high from the inside, are covered with 30-40 rows of bricks. The domes and walls, which are connected with honey plaster, are plastered with this mortar from the inside and outside. Harran houses are cool in summer and warm in winter, in accordance with the regional climate.
