Lentil Soup

Ingredients (Serves 5)
2 cups lentils
4 cups water
1.5 tablespoons of clarified butter
1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
Salt
Preparation
Put the washed lentils in a pot. Cook until melted with water and half a tablespoon of oil, then add salt and bring to a boil. Place on a serving plate. Two spoons of oil are either melted in the soup or poured over it after being branded and served.
*Lentil soup is also called 'sarışorba' in Urfa. The word 'şorba' is a corruption of the Persian word 'şur-b' (Şur: Salty / bâ : Aş).
