Cheese Halva

Ingredients (Serves 6)
½ kg unsalted Urfa cheese
1 cup plain butter
2 cups flour
2 cups granulated sugar
Preparation
A glass of water is added to the granulated sugar and melted. The cheese is washed and cut into thin slices, then the water is drained. The oil poured into a pan is heated over low heat, then the flour is added and stirred continuously for about half an hour. After the flour is roasted until it turns slightly pink, melted sugar is poured into it and mixed well. When the halvah consistency is reached, the middle is opened and cheese is added, the top is covered with halvah and the lid of the pan is covered. When the cheese melts, it is mixed and placed on serving plates.
*This dessert, which is eaten in the spring months, especially with stuffed vine leaves, is blessed as the 'heavenly mud'. Halva is the name given to the dessert made from flour, oil and sugar in Arabic.
